Aussie Brand Advocates Mobile Users To Go Topless

Dog and Bone to Launch World-First Topless Waterproof Mobile Phone Case

An Australian brand is advocating mobile phone users ‘go topless’ with the launch of its world-first topless waterproof mobile phone case this July.

Dog & Bone’s rugged Wetsuit iPhone 5 case is the first waterproof phone case of its kind world-wide to leave the phone screen bare for direct touch and developers say this is a major advantage when it comes to touch screen sensitivity.

Dog & Bone Founder and Director, Mr Lee Ranchod, said after rigorous design and testing to develop Wetsuit, he is thrilled with the result.

“We have heard mobile users complain loud and clearly that there aren’t enough options for waterproof cases and that they are either too bulky, too flimsy, unattractive or at times difficult to use when it comes to the usability of the screen,” Mr Ranchod said.

“What often happens with front enclosed waterproof cases is the film covering the screen creates a ripple effect, which not only looks less attractive, but it can impact on the touch screen sensitivity of the phone.

“On top of this, natural oils and acidity from your fingers transfer to the phone, and the screen can appear marked and grubby, which may reduce the longevity of your case.

“With nothing impeding the front screen of the Dog & Bone Wetsuit case, users can enjoy a sleeker looking product and optimum touch screen sensitivity all the time and for a long lasting time.”

The Wetsuit case is waterproof, dirtproof, snowproof shockproof, meets Military standards to withstand the toughest of drops to two metres, and enjoys an IP68 rating, which is the highest level of ingress protection from water and dust.

Mr Ranchod said Wetsuit is waterproofed with dual sealing beads running the full perimeter of the phone, and uniquely includes rubber bump stops for added cushioning and protection.

“With an IP68 rating, your phone dressed in a Wetsuit can safely be fully submerged in water up to two metres, and this can be done for half an hour at a time,” Mr Ranchod said.

“Smartphones are great for capturing spontaneous photos and I’m looking forward to doing more of this – rain, hail or shine!”

Mr Ranchod said the Wetsuit case provides upmost protection, yet within a slim and compact exterior for day to day use.

“We know some mobile phone users will want a case like this for work or for specific water outings like going to the beach or fishing,” Mr Ranchod said.

“However for others it’s more about confidence day-to-day. The reality is most water damaged phones occur accidentally when you don’t expect it so it was important for us our waterproof case was attractive and compact with complete access to ports and controls as well as tough and durable.

“We believe we have the balance right. We’re satisfied our product has a sense of character and style regardless of whether it is waterproof or not.

“With Wetsuit on, phone users can conveniently go about their day – from activity to activity, from land to water – and stay confident their phone is protected whilst also looking good.”

The Wetsuit case will be available in a range of colour combinations and will retail for US$79.95.

Wetsuit will be sold in mobile phone and sporting retailers and online. For more information, go to www.dogandbonecases.com.
